Past Events at A Little Folks School House

The Week of the Young Child at A Little Folks School House

Manchester, NH (April 16, 2010) – An integral part of providing high quality early childhood programs at A Little Folks School House is connecting our staff and parents together to understand the needs and desires parents have for their children. We celebrate this collaboration during our annual Week of the Young Child.

This year’s theme was The Early Years are Learning Years! This week focused on the importance of the early childhood years. We utilized this week to celebrate all the children in our programs and created fun events for children and parents, including:

  • The children made key chains for their parents to use this week to show their support and love of the young child
  • Children from toddlers to kindergarten made bubbles and participated in the BUBBLE BLAST OFF!
  • As part of our Farm Center, several weeks ago we placed eggs in our incubator and have been counting down. This week we hatched chicks!
  • Parent’s joined their children for COME AND PLAY WITH US NIGHT! The event included a pizza party and the opportunity for parents to experience their child’s day by visiting all of the classroom centers and playing with their child
  • We created books titled WHY WE ARE SPECIAL!  Each child had a page that his/her family helped create to show why they are special

A Little Folks School House Celebrates Earth Day

Manchester, NH (April 13, 2010) – Culminating a two-week event themed “The Early Years are Learning Years”, A Little Folks School House will be hosting a day-long celebration of Earth Day (April 22nd) connecting our world to our children.

Imaginative play allows us to create and explore.  On April 22nd from 10:00 – 11:00am we invite you to come and build fairy houses with your children, and appreciate the joy of our own environment.  Return at 5:00pm that very same day and participate in a family concert.

“Kids love to play and that is exactly how they experience the world around them,” said Mooresville Campus Director Genna Beaudoin. “But as Tracy Kane, the author and illustrator of Fairy Houses suggests, children today are “nature deficient.”   Engrossed in video games, computer programs, and animated TV shows, they are missing out on the wonder and beauty that exists all around them.  They just don’t spend enough time playing.”

A Little Folks School House of Manchester, NH provides programs for Infant Care, Daycare, Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Summer Camps and Afterschool Care.
